Working with the lovely Erika Fox from Retro Flame is very much combining work with pleasure! Erika is a fashion, personal style & lifestyle blogger that effortlessly combines vintage, high street and designer pieces. Somebody once (very adequately) described her style as Blair Waldorf and Audrey Hepburn combined.

Apart from being ridiculously stylish and immensely successful with her blog, she is also incredibly sweet and on the same wavelength as me.
I first met Erika in 2010 – we were both working in New Look at the time – Erika was studying Fashion in college and I was still doing photography only part-time. It feels like so long ago, but I remember the very first fashion story I photographed with her so vividly! It was shot for her college project with her gorgeous sister Kaelin as model.

It was amazing to meet up with her last fall again and have a chat and realize how far we’ve both come since! We shot a casual look book on the streets of Galway that day and since then we’ve been shooting together whenever we both get a chance.

Our meetings tend to involve lots of chit-chat, plenty of street snaps during which we brave the Irish weather and visiting some cute new coffee shop or a chic hotel – as we are both functioning coffee-holics!
One of the exciting highlights of our collaboration has been working with the Four Seasons Hotel up in Dublin and getting the photos published in the Sunday Business Post!

We both have a weakness for pretty decor and so it was only a matter of time before we shot a few looks at the G Hotel! It’s only a few minutes away from my house and their afternoon tea, cocktails, SPA and other delights really had me swooning.

Hope you enjoyed scrolling through these and drop me a line if you have a thought or two!
Be happy and well,
Julia
